MUSHROOM STEAK SANDWICH

Ingredients

  • 1 large flat field or portobello mushroom (stalk trimmed slightly)
  • 1 tablespoon soft butter
  • ½ clove of garlic (minced or chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon GREENSFUD PARSLEY
  • 2 slices of GREENSFUD OREGANO BREAD
  • GREENSFUD HIMALAYAN PINK SALT to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Yellow mustard (or to taste)
  • ¼ lemon
  • a few leaves of lettuce such as iceberg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/ 180°C Fan/gas mark 6/400°F. Put the mushroom stalk side up on a small baking tray or dish. Spread the mixture of butter, garlic, parsley, and a pinch of pink salt over the mushroom’s gilled underside.
  2. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the buttery, garlicky liquids are dripping and blending with the mushroom’s dark fluids.
  3. Smear the pungent juices over the bottom slice of bread on the baking sheet.
  4. Spread with Dijon mustard, add the mushroom on top, season with additional salt and lemon juice, if desired, and garnish with chopped lettuce, if desired. Place another slide of bread on the top and serve with your favourite dip.
